Hoenshell on the family farm aged approx. 7 years, ca 1924 ![]() Hoenshell Home The Hoenshell home was located on a 145 acre farm approximately 3 1/2 miles from Morris near the Illinois & Michigan Canal in 1917. The Illinois River flooded four years in a row and Sam Hoenshell lost the farm. Robert C. Hoenshell, son of Samuel & Jessie Johnson Hoenshell, was born in this house. [Biography of Samuel Hoenshell]
